Hello everyone! We’ve got some exciting things in the works here at Fundy Float and we’re happy to finally announce a huge project that we’re embarking on! “Your Wellness Weekly” is a podcast dedicated to all things wellness based out of our centre right here in Rothesay, New Brunswick.

While we hope to use it as a tool to promote the benefits of floatation therapy, our sights are set much higher than that. Ultimately, we want to use it as a tool to promote local business and open up some great dialog with several health and wellness professionals in our area, see what they have going on and give you some ideas on how you might be able to better the quality of your own lives.

This is going to be a ton of fun and we’re just getting started! Stay tuned!

Guest this week: Jacques Desjardins

This week on the show I had the opportunity to sit down with one of my best friends: Jacques Desjardins.

Jacques is a family man who has done an excellent job at balancing a professional career and active lifestyle. He finally found an opportunity to stop by for his first float session and we’re grateful that we could steal a few minutes from his busy schedule to chat about it.

We’ve recorded this episode in two parts: first we sit down and discuss any preconceived notions or thoughts before his float, and then we catch up with him after to see (hear) how it all went. It’s interesting to hear the obvious change, and if you’re still curious about how a float will make you feel, this episode is for you!

Jacques is also taking part in The Great Cycle Challenge again this year to raise funds that will help in the fight to end childhood cancer. There is no doubt that cancer has touched all of our lives and I, myself (Ryan) am proud to say that I too have cycled and raised funds for the past two years.

In 3 years, riders from all 13 provinces and territories have ridden a total of 6,709,204 kilometres, and raised $7,896,090 in support of research to develop treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

If you would support Jacques’ journey, it would mean a lot to me, to him, and ultimately to all of the children and families that are fighting this unimaginable battle!

Until the next episode: relax. renew. repeat… float
